One time my friend got a puppy. The puppy was misbehaving and my friend yelled at it. The puppy went even crazier.

I started petting the puppy and he bit me. It took it, and didn’t yell or react.

I knew the puppy was acting out of ignorance and taking the bite was the price of building trust. The puppy calmed down and started behaving better.
