I finally figured out what unsettles me so much about AI generated "art."
It's the complete misapprehension of what creatives actually create.
Art isn't "content" as a commodity to be sold or packed around other products.
Creatives are visionaries.
We don't really buy art, it's more like we pay rent to look at new worlds through their eyes. Whether for wayfinding or escapism, we say: "yes, I'd like to reside in a world like this for a little while."
It isn't a product, its a shared dream.
