That last boost from
npub1zk3ng34cff6kvygkjtd0pj2z6zc23exdyt4dzmz73x2084gu7w7quhdkjj (npub1zk3…dkjj) reminded me that the first JDK bug I ever found was in the filename handling - #Java 6 would not correctly handle filenames with Hungarian characters in them, which made the onboarding process for new joiners very sad.
I think that in the end, we had to go back to using the shonky collection of #Perl scripts we had be been using prior.
I have, fortunately, forgotten almost everything I knew about character sets from back then.
