Oof. this is like a book worth of stuff. There really should be page or something for this question. There's just so much. And I may get some of this wrong. I am not a bitcoin person and mostly know about it because I'm on nostr.
A big question is how much are you talking about doing at once?
Bitcoin and Monero are probably your best bets. Bitcoin Lightning transactions are instant and easy. Lots of wallets to choose from. I personally like the Aqua wallet because its self-custody, and can do lightning, onchain, and liquid bitcoin transactions.
Several services let you easily turn bitcoin into spendable money via gift cards and other things like that.
Cashapp has a builtin custodial bitcoin wallet that makes it easy to buy and sell bitcoin with onchain and lightning transactions. But. If you turn bitcoin into dollars using cashapp it is a IRS reportable transaction.
I know less about Monero, but I have heard Monero is used a lot more for transactions that need more privacy as those transactions are untraceable.
Cake wallet seems to be popular wallet for it and is self-custodial.
