Goody (npub1x7z…44p2) it’s not as simple as you think. For one thing. It’s not even clear how many federal crimes there are. Some legal scholars think there are only 3000, others think there are up to 300,000 different kinds of crimes. The American legal system is based on common law and president. It’s simply not a fixed system. It’s subjective and living. Nobody’s enforcing the Texas law which makes it illegal to own more than 6 dildos. It’s just as important much a law on the book as overstaying a tourist visa.
The legal code is a mess, just look at this list. Do you want to be held accountable for violating these laws? Failing to follow these laws is illegal and you’re proposing criminal charges for them.

Or are you saying some laws are important and others are not? I think there are no end of immoral laws. The state as a whole is a sovereign monopoly of violence. Its power comes from monopolizing violence and it most cares about maintaining that power. It cares about a lot more, Seeing Like A State outlines the logic and function of the state. It’s not just the sum of us. It’s a unique self driven institution. Our conception of right, wrong, moral, and even legal only partially overlaps with what the state wants.
When we talk about enforcing the state’s laws. We need to see look through the eyes of the state.
One last thing, what’s also crazy is immigration issues don’t go through the normal legal / courts system. So you don’t have innocent until proven guilt, jury trials, or the right to council.
