If you used the same level design and enemy placement as DOOM 2 in any other game you would call it bad and everybody would agree with you

They'd talk about how it's stupid that you are repeatedly suckered by fake walls and trap floors and enemies out of sight who are already aware of your position and have the drop on you and blast you immediately. That the game it stupid for expecting you to already have known it's going to pull this trick 5000 times, where enemies are literally standing, face smashed against a door, for you to open because DOOM 2 isn't "hell on earth", it's a videogame. Unlike DOOM which infact was hell on a martian military research base

The secrets in DOOM even are far more excusable and sound from a human architectural perspective while DOOM 2's make absolutely no sense. I guess we develop illusory walls in the future and we design buildings for the purpose of hording groups of monsters to jump a guy. Don't ask us what our buildings are in the future, they don't actually have a practical purpose. CADD will be used like a drag and drop videogame maker and that's how we'll build is a 14 year old making a fangame or romhack
