I was referring to developer experience here, I am not at all a fan of npm or cargo or whatever go does, downloading a bunch of stuff...
Flatpak I agree is good for apps for all the obvious reasons. But that kind of ignores all the folks building system level software.. we still need an OS under it all.
I guess my point is I think it's naive to take such an aggressive anti-distro take. Since the alternatives are just building additional abstractions on top, not providing some magical alternative way to build a system.
An of course, im not saying building abstractions on top is a bad thing. It's exactly what I hope to do in postmarketOS for all the obvious reason.
