Many people here aren't comfortable with English, and even for very low-skilled labor (supermarket stocking for example), basic German is required. Also, try getting your ukrainian medicine approbation or carpenter's trade diploma approved, it's a nightmare. I have some more firsthand insight via PM if you are interested.
