Okay, the counter-offensive, to take back Ukrainian territory, has gone more-or-less as I had expected. It looks like my theory that Bakhmut was a diversion, basically a honeypot for luring Russian troops into being the targets in a turkey-shoot, might have been correct. The push seems to be going southeast.
The breach has already happened, so how the summer goes is going to be in the hands of Ukraine's troops.
