There’s a trope in TV and film that is so distinctly not something normal people do that’s been noticeable to me lately. One character quotes some historical figure, or the Bible, or whatever— and the other character has this brief revelatory sigh before identifying that figure or that verse.
I can’t remember many quotations word-for-word, and though I know some can, I find it so hard to believe anyone speaks this way or recalls names like this.
