This might seem counterintuitive, especially if, like many of us, you worry about violence, injury, loss of life. But appeasement is a mug’s game. If we do not insist on all the usual legal processes being brought to bear on Trump, we will end up with him or another equally lawless Republican in office. And whether Trump or another Republican cut from the same cloth, such a president will be even more menacing than Trump now is. 5/
