At least that’s been my experience. I’ve had to stop tying for months and even years because of life/injuries/mental health/etc and the rust wears off pretty quickly once I jump back in.
Not having a partner is rough tho and you have my sympathies.
Sometimes you just gotta make your own rope people. Like, no one knows they are a “rope person” until they go to their first rope class because some friend/partner/lover was crazy enough to invite them 😜. I went to my first one because a hot lady I was dating posted about a beginner shibari class she wanted to go to online. I was like “👋 yes, me, I will go, this intrigues me.” And then I was hooked.
