I am still :ablobcatsweatsip: ing (nprofile…5dmj) This is really big news, if it's what I've been able to track down to a Berkeley Computer Science professor named James O'Brien. Maybe it's changed recently, hard to see it not sooner or later with what I remember of UCB's recent admissions policies, but it, Stanford, CMU, and MIT have the world's best CS programs by far, so far even the second rank while good can't compare.
And part of it, probably most of it is going to be the current tech layoff season (come tot think of it, "AI" hardware spending is certainly going to be contributing to that, as it did to Intel's current earnings), some might be the individuals in question. Secular trends can outweigh individual merit.
