Another amusing factor in the social media bans kerfuffle is Australian old media thinking it will somehow benefit them, that audience and revenue will magically return and stave off moral and financial bankruptcy.

Instead of recognising they're 21st century scribe monks and the printing press equivalent already ended their run - they just haven't had the self-awareness to notice yet - however many Harvey Norman or Minerals Council ads are keeping them barely afloat.
