White people in America still make up over 60% and conservative homophobic and tribal Muslim and Catholics/Christians make up a lot of the rest. Making assumptions based only on the ethnic makeup of the world directly around you is always a fool's errand. My Islamic Albanian American recent immigrant friend told me he would kill his son if he were to come out as gay. It's not "postmodern" everywhere.
