I wish we'd adopt the notion of "fancy gift fruit" as I've seen in Japan in the US. The idea is for a gift you can buy someone a really exceptional perfectly ripe carefully selected strawberry, or a peach.
And of course one could also hunt one down on their own.
It's more memorable the jewelry and more exciting than chocolate.
