So .... rents are at a record high in the private sector, there is a shortage of social housing, so to get more funding into the not-for-profit sector Rachel Reeves is proposing a inflation+ ratchet for ten years on social rents.
The very people whose plight is emblematic of the housing crisis are now going to see their real income further reduced(!!!) after housing costs?
The people paying for new affordable housing should not be its users; that's the point of social housing!
