most fedi meta is literally an antagonistic game. if you don't feed back into the other side's instigation it is remarkable how quickly meta dies off. the only time meta "takes off" is when people are needlessly hostile towards each other, obsessed with "refuting" the other person in this dick measuring contest. if you want to "win" you don't play the game at all.
