Lenovo isn't even making ThinkPads with modular/removable/upgrade-able network cards or RAM anymore. Legitimately everything is soldered down these days. I just browsed their contemporary offerings out of curiosity and nothing. Just a few years ago they still had some models that had changeable WLAN, WWAN, RAM. Not anymore. Now, it appears that, more or less (except for some L-series models that still have SODIMM RAM), everything is soldered down except for the SSD.
Very frustrating, because this also seems to be the case with most other laptop manufacturers out there as well. At least ThinkPads still have decent keyboards and the physical mice keys + pointing device "nub".
