I bought a joule sous vide probably 2 or 3 years ago or more, used it about 3 or 4 times maybe and pulled it out to use the other day. It has a stupid app on your cell phone it uses. You pick a recipe and it sets the time and temp on the machine for you.
I RECOMMEND AGAINST THIS 100 PERCENT!!!
Do not buy a sous vide that requires an app. It's stupid and not needed. If the app is changed, as in my case, your sous vide machine will not work.
That said, I purchased a greater Goods brand on Amazon. They have the machine, and I also bought their name-brand box and rack system to cook in, as well as their brand vacuum sealer to season and seal my meats for cooking. I am going to use it a bunch this week for the first time. I went to SAMS and I bought a pack of $60 Prime Filet Mignon with four steaks in there. I also bought a $20 Angus Sirloin Tip with four steaks. I am going to make it three different times this week, I hope, each using slightly different spices, and my goal is to prove I can be pretty happy with the $20 meat when I'm cooking it right (probably 135 or 140 degrees for 1.5 to 2 hours). It may not be quite as good, but I will see if my wife can even tell the difference and which she prefers!
Ill post the results on #nostr
