I see Lithium as an important technology of fast charging batteries, but not a replacement of oil. Lithium is gonna be fully replaced by Graphene and Fuel Cells in the following years.
Graphene reduces the amount of toxic components and mining. Fuel Cell does highly efficient energy storage in natural sense and not just chemical reactions who degrade and leaks dangerous liquids
