I'm a bit skeptical of this.
The less input energy is due to the existing structure, but at any scale it clearly takes far more labour for roof top installations than large scale ground installations.

The less CO2e of GHG emissions is also due to the existing structure, but over the longer term that becomes irrelevant.

The lower water is less panel cleaning, which over the long term would mean the panels produced less power.

The energy payback time is also largely irrelevant in the comparison because in both cases it's vastly less than the lifetime of the installation.

I'm doubtful roof top panels are going to make sense for on-grid installation over the next decade as power prices drop.
