One of the underrated psyops over recent decades is the sense that we had everything figured out. That physics was just making incremental progress, that we knew everything we needed to about history, etc.
Now that I’m finally free from it, I feel ravenously hungry for information about physics and ancient history. It’s like I’ve become a student again after being so jaded for 35 years about whatever boring drudging they could teach me in a classroom.
The gravity of that is just starting to hit me.
