What'd it take to build a full-Unicode text renderer on my hypothetical hardware?
There's a couple inherent challenges here... For starters in Unicode's attempt to cover every written language used anywhere/anywhen on Earth fonts & character-classification tables can get quite massive! The other is that this impacts & is impacted by the layout of its parent nodes, & so must be run on the "Layout Coprocessor"!
Then there's rasterizing the vector fonts...
