Part of the deal that comes with refusing to do fractional scaling is thorough research on monitor specs. That's where I am now in my pre-tarriff monitor shopping.
TIL: 141 PPI (points per inch) is acceptable on my laptop, but 140 PPI is too high for a desktop monitor. The desktop/laptop scaling delta needs to be more than 1%. So I wasn't too upset about the &54!-up backlight on that 31.5 inch monitor. It was going back to Amazon anyway. My plan B monitor has a 14% scaling delta.
