Because US healthcare is, in an emoji, 💩, I researched the cost for a procedure I may opt to have in Malaysia. In a quick search, I stumbled upon a 52-page document from one particular hospital in Kuala Lumpur that line lists every single treatment and its corresponding cost — it’s specifically catered to the foreign patient paying out of pocket.
How is it I can find medical costs from a provider 8K miles away, but my own insurance can’t give me an accurate cost, even with a known billing code?
