I don't post here about ceramics (yet!) but I just fixed my own kiln, which is so exciting! The thermocouple went bad and I followed the directions in the manual and replaced it. OK, it was really easy, but still, so empowering! I wonder if I could ever learn to replace the coils, which seems overwhelming, and I always hire someone to do it.
