Ahh, I see. If you post through Mastodon API (ie Soapbox) it will rebroadcast your post to all the relays in your relay list. But if you post directly to the relay, it won't do that. The assumption is that if you're using a normal Nostr client you would have multiple relays added. 🤔 But I understand what you're trying to do and why you want to do it.
