The amount of boosting I do does turn off some people. I know they could just turn off my boosts, but some accounts mute me instead.
I'm thinking of a daily digest of music links as an alternative strategy. It will conflate links to the same subdomain, and also use ... ahem ... an algorithm to ensure new music gets preference.
I have yet to write the software to do this, but I'm now designing it.
