A colleague is buying up Mac Cylinders for $250 and upgrading the GPU + processors, for editorial use. They say that as long as you’re okay with Premiere 2023, it works fantastically.
I laughed and told them that running older machines with older software until they can’t be used anymore is exactly what LA Post shops have been doing for decades. 😂
While perhaps the Cylinder isn’t quite as energy efficient at the M-class machines… they can apparently still get the job done.
