You can’t start with rent at $1400, gas > $3, no skills, and minimum wage labor. It’s something older people can bear because they’ve got careers, property, knowledge, routine, connections they’ve accumulated over years or decades. Zoomers *have* to have stuff handed to them, there’s no other way, and no one is doing save their boomer parents, grudgingly, except the ones who let their children wind up on the street or housed with 12 pajeets.

1982 VW rabbit w a 1.6l IDI diesel, naturally aspirated. 46city 55hwy. 64mpg if I'm going 55 on flat ground.
52 teeth shattering horsepower and 79 ground pounding feet of torque.

Not a car to have if you can't do the maintenance yourself. And aren't autistic enough to learn all the little details of it's design. Stout and reliable once you get it back up to spec though from how you buy them (typically tired after 40 years). Got 250k mi on mine and it's ready for 250k more, though I might rebuild my spare motor and transmission as a backup in case anything funky happens with parts availability in the future. I have a stockpile of consumable parts I've gathered over the years that I reman once it's off the car and replaced with another component.
