Would there be any worth in acquiring CISSP? I've previously held Security+ (which I personally believe is a complete joke), for at least 6 years (1 renewal), until it was cut short for not paying up with the scam of "maintenance fees".
Supposedly I can submit for 'Continuing Education' credits, but apparently reporting a critical CVE, building educational tools, and a few other past stuff is only a drop in the bucket for the total credits needed, and I'm not going to waste my time trying to stack up paperwork and game the CE system.
I don't really use certs for job-seeking, it's just more for show that "I'm not completely retarded, just partially", even though vendors don't seem to care anyway (weirdly, I've had a small software project for a bank before I even had any certs).
I don't specialize on security consultancy, pentesting, or auditing, whereas I assume CISSP would probably be overkill, but at the same time it could be a goal to fill in some gaps of knowledge, of something to leisurely test up to.
