The world is in the midst of conflict, and the aftermath of a war that lasted so long it has shaped the culture of Ethereal. As such, melee and battle magic tournaments are prevalent. There is a lot of culture emerging but the only thing resembling a sport that persists is the chess tournaments held by the Mage Guilds, which are sponsored by the Crown in a misguided attempt to discover future generals.
