Having experienced all these crises here in this lifetime, I live in fear that Manhattan’s power will go out for a week or more again. I’m constantly on the verge of spending money I don’t have on a giant battery and solar cells and maybe a portable AC.
And now this solar flare business? I might lean into data hoarding, buy a Jackery unit, and hoard Faraday blankets for the whole family.
Thank god I’m too poor to crack and become a prepper.
