Depends. Some search engines (or maybe just google and ones that take results from google) will put your webpage lower in search results when using multiple h1 headers on the same page.
I don't think people should follow all of these rules the companies behind the search engine are making. Most people in the foss space don't use google search, so it's not something you should worry about
