i tend to overthink things, and she simplifies them for me. i am harsh to myself, and she makes my edges softer. she teaches me how to play, that i shouldn't be ashamed of the kid who lives in me. while i feel like i've only known rejection and abandonment, she accepts and anchors. i had thought that after 91 months i don't have much more to write, but it seems like all i needed was to start, and the words come flowing — such is the depth of my reverence for this person.
