Well the political party is just a political party so treat them as such. That said, the libertarian position is that public property can only exist through the theft of private property, so the government has a mandate to maintain that property inline with how it would be maintained as private property. In this context that would imply 1. Build a wall, as you would around your house in a bad neighborhood 2. Evict tresspassers 3. Establish invite only immigration proceedures 4. Stop engaging in activities that cause mass migration.
By comparison, red team and blue team have spent the last several decades overthrowing governments and starting civil wars in central/south america, africa, the middle east, and eastern europe. Red team has failed to enact stricter border security, and blue team has failed to enact better immigration policy, they both win votes by blaming their problems on the other side.
I would then conclude that the libertarian position is actually the only one that offers serious solutions to real problems.
