I never considered myself a liberal, but I listened to NPR daily for years, subscribed to the NYT for years, because I wanted to have a sense of the fancy liberal perspective.
Both completely lost me over time.
For NPR, it was a slow burn that eventually extinguished when I no longer had a commute. For NYT, it was firing James Bennet for publishing an op ed from a sitting senator.
Now I primarily subscribe via substack and patreon. News is a commodity, and I’ll pay for opinions from individuals I trust. There are no publications I trust at this point
