"Silicon Valley" hasn't taken over the technology world - that merely has a bunch of profitable proprietary software and proprietary hardware companies, that have shackled a bunch of suckers - the software they offer is frankly shit and free software is far superior to it in most cases.
If instead Japanese proprietary software and hardware companies were as profitable, things would be just as proprietary - maybe even more so.
The axis powers had no chance of winning, even against the USA alone and they were going up against the rest of the world - Germany couldn't even get a single bomber or u-boat to reach New York, let alone take over that city and the longest-range Japanese fighters could only make it to Hawaii on a one-way trip.
The axis power leaders were insane megalomaniacs that loved genocide and clearly they would have absolutely loved making software proprietary, which would result in an even more cringe and proprietary reality, not an ideal one.
