i think that is a reasonable assessment from the developer. The user’s expectation is that windows have decoration, and some programs break due to gnome’s bad decisions. gnome is entirely unreceptive to this so really the only thing that a developer can do is either officially not support GNOME wayland, or implement it themselves, both of which are bad outcomes
