Fathers (and men in father-like roles) are given special responsibilities -- and the status and privilege that goes along with them -- as they are presumed to be more noble than women and other men. They are presumed to not be acting primarily in their own interests, to be ready to sacrifice, and to be deliberating to the benefit of others, particularly their own dependents. They are the basis of representative government.
Feminism undermines this nobility, by assuming men cannot do anything right.
Masculinism undermines this nobility, by assuming men cannot do anything wrong.
