I predict that a lot of wealth currently held in unexceptional pension pots is going to start moving around the economy over the next couple of years as previous long term pension and inheritance strategies are rapidly revised and a lot of middle class people, formerly safe from IHT, start spending and gifting. If you want a gigantic economic stimulus then let us call it the Reeves Boom. Let’s hope it has fewer long term consequences than Barber’s.
