Feb 27. Have you written poetry?
During the angsty years (in my case late 30s / early 40s. Yeah, it wasn’t teenage angst in this case) I found poetry a great release. I wrote a total of (counts) thirty-two for public consumption plus a short series of really bad semi-pornographic works that will certainly never see the light of day.
Those 32 I packaged up in my early publishing days (i.e. 2012) after my first novel came out and I was scratching around thinking “what else can I put up?” They remain the only work of mine that’s “wide” (not in KU), and have sold as close to zero copies as makes no difference, having received no advertising love or attention of any kind during those almost 12 years. I did receive one rather nice comment though, from a reader who happened across them on Smashwords. One of those rare “made my day” moments that writers treasure.
