I usually find myself losing interest fairly quickly. The orchestra as a big live 'string/brass section' (just providing atmospheric pads/stabs) works, but kind of a waste of talented players. I am struggling to think of any efforts that I really liked that much.... I suppose John McLaughlin/Mahavishnu's 'Apocalypse' has a worthy go at it.
