what's something you do/buy in your adult life that you can trace directly back to your childhood?

For me, it's sneakers and cereal. We were only able to afford one new pair of kicks a year, and they were usually whatever was on sale not whatever was hot/popular. Always wanted e.g. the Jordans, could never get them. My mom was a bit of a health food enthusiast too, so it was always natural peanut butter (stir it up) and no sugar cereal (never name brands, except for Grape-Nuts).

So now that I'm an adult, I have way too many pairs of sneakers, and a pantry full of e.g. S’mores Lucky Charms and Peanut Butter Crunch.

I think it was nprofile1qy2hwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnddaehgu3wwp6kyqpqe7rqcsp5pypj3ac5wxnvgnwxmdl5the60wggwlqytaxm9kql0cdsaxd2rl (nprofile…d2rl) (?) that I first saw post something along these lines (“what makes you feel rich as an adult because of something you were too poor to do as s kid?” and my answer was “getting whatever I want at the grocery store without coupons or store brands”), and I still think about how much of my behavior as an adult is influenced by the context in which I grew up.
