Back a few years ago when Twitter was on the ropes, I remember saying it needed to not collapse as the technical and human infrastructure wasn’t there to take the load elsewhere.
It really wasn’t - they burn billions on infrastructure alone each year.
I think between Mastodon, BlueSky and Threads there’s enough technical and human infrastructure now for the wheels to fall off X relatively comfortably. It would still be a roller coaster, but it feels like a much more comfortable place.
