My folklore books already try to pinpoint the location for each folk tale as closely as possible (including an appendix listing the locations by state and town).

But I sometimes fantasize about writing actual folkloric travel guides - focusing on specific regions, collecting all the tales from that region, and then adding lots of cultural, historical, and visitors' information.

Oh well, something to do for my retirement, I suppose...
