Bitcoin doesn't deflate because of attrition though. That too but it's the lesser issue. The bigger factor is that a fixed amount of Bitcoin would face a growing amount of goods and services if the Bitcoin economy grew the way they dream of. This leads to rapidly lower prices. It'll nip any attempt to grow the Bitcoin economy right in the bud.
