my problem is that, for the average home user who has no idea what any of this stuff is and doesn't want to, they are now having what was supposed to be an important privacy feature ripped out from under them. in the US at least, the ISP generally needs to be treated as a privacy adversary, and here firefox has effectively disabled a very important pillar of that strategy.
