That's basically what I'm doing. 2 main clamps for the incoming feed, then additional clamps for the circuits.
As my house is from the 1970s, smart plugs only goes so far if you can plug everything in. There's a lot of odd wiring due to changes; Like I found one of the garage outlets wired to a bedroom circuit. It'd make sense if it was the bedroom wall the garage backed on to, but it's not.
